Tip of the Day – Set a Date! [Updated]

Share/Bookmark

I am repeating this post and will every couple of weeks.  I believe if you don’t set your sights on an  event you will take the easy way out if you have a choice.  Have you set a date??

If you really want to motivate yourself to ride, exercise, and eat right, pick an upcoming event and commit to it.  By commit I mean register for it, pay for it, and tell everyone you are going to do it.  As a matter of fact, invite a bunch of others along.  It will be difficult to cancel once you have committed to it and you don’t want to be the last guy to finish either.

That’s what I’m doing.  There is a ride called the Bone Ride, on May 18th, that is 158 miles from Milwaukee, WI to Madison, WI and back in a single day.  A couple of years ago I made it about 100 miles and then cramped up and had to quit.  This year my goal is to join in with the group partially along the way and finish 125 miles, no excuses.  That means there is a lot of training to do between here and there.

There it is!  I said it!  It is up to you to keep me accountable.  Actually, you are ALL invited and it would be great to see you…

If you want more information on the ride you can follow The Bone Ride on Facebook.

Love, live, and ride.
