New Year’s Resolution? NOT ME!

Share/Bookmark

I’m going to join a health club, go on a diet, take yoga, stretch daily, go on a diet and ride inside every day for the next three to four months until the snow melts and I can get out on the road. Did I mention go on a diet? Really? I think not!

How many people actually do ANYTHING they set out to do in the New Year? Very few if you ask me. I am taking a different approach this new year. I was talking to one of my cycling friends and he told me about a book he had just picked up called “The 4-Hour Workweek” by Timothy Ferriss. I was familiar with this author but had never read this particular book but once I began reading I was hooked. In all fairness I actually listened to the book, a huge time saver, that I purchased from www.audible.com. I think it is a must read, or listen, if you really want to get your life back to open some time for cycling.

Happy New Year! Have fun and be safe.

Love, live, and ride.

As you know, I love the idea of “the Cycling Dad” and congratulate you on starting up your blog. Be sure to submit it to http://cranklisted.com so we can add it to our extensive list of cycling blogs around the World.

I read The 4 Hour Work Week about 4 years ago and loved it. IT actually changed my life for the better and I’m now living the life of the “New Rich”.

Good luck with the blog and please be sure to check in with us if there’s anything we can do to help you out.

  2. Being a father is a long distance event, taking a lot of time. When I was busy with work and family the workout became a secondary event in a day. I shifted to working out before going to work. For years I got up at 5:00 and worked out before being on the job at 7:00. Looking for opportunities to work out will improve the probablity that one can get some exercise in.

Mr. Ferriss also has a book called: The Four Hour Body. He gets a little out there for me on some stuff, but I gleaned a few good ideas from this book.

    • I have actually read much of the 4-Hour Body and I agree it is a bit out there although I think there are some very interesting concepts…

  3. If you are a fan of the Four Work Week and the Four Body, try the Transitional Diet. Awesome plan for those that wish to stay in better shape in the off season. During the season a person can do this diet and drop weight quickly and stay healthy.
