Tip of the Day — Be Accountable

No matter what you are trying to accomplish you will likely be more successful if you are accountable.

Accountability, simply put, is having someone to answer to, on some level.

For example, if you are dieting you are a lot less likely to stray if you know there will be a negative consequence.  If you stop eating right and there is no one asking how you are doing you are very likely to fail.  I had been posting my weight in the right sidebar of my blog and a good friend of mine noticed, and commented, the day I removed it.

Bryan, I will put it back soon.  I promise…

Public humiliation is very motivating!

Tip of the Day – Stretch Yourself! [Updated]

Most people think that stretching is only something that you should do before or after a workout.  Not so.

A few of the main benefits of stretching are thought to be:

  • Improved flexibility
  • Improved athletic performance
  • Decreasing the risk of activity-based injuries
I have been stretching in the morning and evening for the past couple of weeks and can feel my right hip loosening up.  I am convinced that this will benefit my riding this season.
It is something, though, you really need to dedicate yourself to.  An ideal time to do stretching is when you are watching TV or just relaxing.
